This is a grant funded position that will manage the CARE Initiative in the MHUMC ED by ensuring all terms are met under the MHUMC’s HIV/HCV grant from Gilead Sciences. This position will provide oversight of day-to-day operations for screening, testing, and coordination of linkage/retention to care for newly identified HIV/HCV patients. HIV testing will follow the most recent U. S. Preventive Task Force guidelines for HIV (Grade A) and HCV (Grade B) recommendations. HIV screening and testing will be open to all ages, but focus on 15-65 age population. HCV will focus on the population born between 1945 and 1965. Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Public Health, Nursing, Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Biology, Biostatistics, Sociology, Psychology or related discipline and two years of professional-level research experience or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Program Planning/Management experience preferably in business administration, education, public health or the health sciences. Knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic testing methods. Must have experience in a "lead worker" role. Experience in program planning/management is required.
