Assist the RN and/or physician in providing quality, age specific, direct and indirect care to patients as delegated and supervised by the RN or physician, consistent with the vision, mission and philosophy of patient care services and Memorial Health. Responsible for scrubbing, assisting, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon in all surgical procedures. Assists in setting up and operating appropriate instruments and equipment for surgical procedures. Responsible for maintaining the aseptic surgical environment before and during the surgical procedure. Actively involved with the preparation of the OR suite prior to case, throughout the day and end of shift close down of the room and redistribution of instruments, supplies and equipment.
Required Education and Experience - Specialty training beyond high school- Surgical Technology, completion of surgical technologies program and on the job training.Certifications Required CPR/BLS and Surgical Technician certification.Must have graduated foran accredited Surgical Technology program.
