Responsible for the proper and safe administration of respiratory care including intermittent and continuous therapy, blood gas sampling and analysis, mechanical ventilation, airway management and non-invasive oxygen and carbon dioxide monitoring of neonatal newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
High School or GED. Specialty training beyond HS. Certificate of completion of RT program from accredited college or Degree in Respiratory Therapy. Credentialed with NBRC as a Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician; BCLS Certified. Licensed in the State of Georgia as Respiratory Care Practitioner. One year experience.
Respiratory Therapy students currently enrolled in an accredited program may be hired as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) prior to obtaining their Georgia license. All students must have a license by their graduation date to work as an RRT.
Special requirements for PEDS: NRP within 6 months of start date and PALS within 12 months of start date as RRT.
