The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate loan growth while preserving credit quality in the commercial loan portfolio. The function involves complex data acquisition and analysis resulting in executive level loan presentations and reports. Incumbent participates with lending officers on customer calls, attends bank group meetings and assists in the development of junior credit and lending officers. Core responsibilities include:
Underwriting - loan underwriting encompasses:
--Industry, market and competitor evaluation
--Management, business and financial strategy
--Detailed financial assessment of the borrower
--Loan structure and documentation
Mentoring & Training - Review work product of junior credit and lending officers.
Special projects - participate in special projects as requested by lenders and management.
--Bachelor's degree in a business related field.
--Minimum five years experience in commercial bank underwriting or lending
--Thorough knowledge of commercial/industrial loan underwriting
--Working knowledge of investor real estate and energy lending
--Excellent oral and written communication skills
--Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Moody s Risk Analyst (or similar program) and Buker Tax-analysis (or similar program)
