Director, Corporate Profitability
Location: TEMPE, Arizona

Responsibilities
•Manages the corporate expense allocation methodology ensuring monthly cost allocation at the instrument, product and business unit level
•Continually evaluate the effectiveness of expense allocation methodology and pursue enhancements that elevate the profitability analysis at SVB
•Validate and analyze corporate profitability by interpreting allocated expenses and communicating business unit and product profitability to senior management
•Provide insights and observations in establishing financial targets and measures that are appropriate for the business unit in meeting corporate objectives.
•Perform fluctuation analysis for various components of profitability to provide transparency into SVB's cost structure
•Provide insights into the identification of financial performance drivers and coordinate with FP&A partners to build this into driver based planning

Short Term Deliverables
•Coordinate with Treasury in transitioning funds transfer pricing from EPM to Axiom
•Work with Axiom SME's to transition forecasting of FTP to the proforma rates provided by Empyrean
•Work with Axiom SME's to implement profitability reporting through Axiom inclusive of Empyrean FTP, indirect expense allocation, and cost of equity
•Promote cost transparency through Aptio expense allocations of Global Services. Coordinate with Axiom SME's to have allocations built into Axiom reporting
•Develop an allocation methodology of support units (other than Global Services) and utilize Axiom in allocating expenses to instruments, products and business units

Skills and Requirements:
8-12 years experience required, Bachelors Degree required, Masters degree preferred
Experience with financial institutions is preferred: knowledge of stress testing and regulatory requirement for banking industry
Knowledge of financial analysis and principles of economics of financial and cost accounting
Deep understanding of financial institution balance sheet, profit and loss and analysis techniques
Expert level Excel skills and excellent Power Point presentation ability
Strong knowledge of financial statements assertions, internal controls, GAAP and financial statement disclosures
Highly motivated individual or is a self-starter and takes ownership of projects and tasks
Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to highly complex and diverse analytical problems
Ability to deal with changes, ambiguity, and uncertainty
Strong professional communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels in an organization
Commercial banking experience is preferred
Ability to quickly process and internalize large volumes of information, such as regulatory guidance documents and model documentation
