Director, Platform Engineering
Location: TEMPE, Arizona

Sr Leader sill provide the team with development needed to mature the Engineering Function and drive technology roadmaps for our on premise and cloud based platform and storage solutions. Leader will support and drive Ruthless Priority Projects including:
- EAA
- VDI
- Data Center
- Windows 10


Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership of Platform Engineering team members: Employee hiring, development, retention. Process and Technology engineering. Consistency in delivery, timeliness of delivery and collaboration with BTS, IT Ops and SO leadership to ensure effective resourcing, quality delivery and business value realization of projects while driving to create operational efficiencies.

Skills and Requirements:
7-10 years of experience leading highly technical Teams in complex environments
• Deep, technical, hands-on experience in platform engineering and architecture
• Strong interpersonal skills through keen understanding of one’s own behavior and work style with tolerance of other’s styles, needs and viewpoints. Consideration for others through courtesy, respect, humility and a service oriented attitude
• Appreciation, understanding and ability to thrive in an autonomous work environment with the ability to work in self-organizing Teams towards a common goal
• Experience with network architecture topology design - border, core, distribution, access layer and Spine leaf networks
• Familiarity and experience with internal and external routing protocols (OSPF, Spanning Tree, BGP)
• Deep understanding of network security concepts and technologies.
• Experience with compliance audits, controls concepts, gap analysis and remediation processes
• Experience with and understanding of modern cloud (compute, storage, and networking)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
• Demonstrated experience with network and platform technologies preferably in an Engineering role
• Demonstrated experience with process and project management in an ITIL or Agile environment
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and customer service skills, including experience communicating to senior-level executives and 3rd party customers
• Experience with developing and executing IT strategic plans in collaboration with business and technical organizations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with discretion and sound independent judgment
• Knowledge of cloud-based networking solutions
• An appreciation and focus on the full stack of technologies driving a solution/experience including network, systems, application, data and monitoring
• An analytical mindset with the ability to visualize, articulate, and solve both complex and uncomplicated problems and concepts, and make decisions that make sense based on available information
