Role:

The Director - Global Service Transition Europe has primary responsibility for managing the operations for the Service Transition organization in Europe. The Service Transition organization is closely aligned with Sungard AS’s sales strategy.  The Director - Global Service Transition Europe is responsible for all strategic, managerial and budget responsibilities associated with the implementation of Sungard AS Managed Services & Recovery Services aligned by specific sales geographies.

The Director - Global Service Transition Europe will have direct oversight for project management and will work closely with a broad range of teams, including Sales, Service Management, Product, Implementation Engineering, and Operations Support to ensure that customer implementations are completed on- time and on-budget. 

The Director - Global Service Transition Europe must maintain a close relationship with the market (customers, competitors, evaluators, and potentials) for awareness of market needs and perspectives, sales and sales support to ensure that customer requirements are understood, procurement to streamline the supply chain, and Service Management to ensure that customer implementations are delivered with a high degree of quality.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership to Programme Managers / Project Managers and assist as an escalation point for all customer implementations in their team.
  2. Provide leadership to India Project Managers and assist as an escalation point for all customer implementations in their team.
  3. Responsibility for positive CSAT scores for EMEA implementations.
  4. Management, review and assessment of existing process and practices within Sungard Availability Services as they apply and impact the Managed Services organization.
  5. Provide leadership to Programme Managers / Project Managers and assist as an escalation point for all customer implementations in their team.
  6. Provide leadership to India Project Managers and assist as an escalation point for all customer implementations in their team.
  7. Responsibility for positive CSAT scores for EMEA implementations.
  8. Management, review and assessment of existing process and practices within Sungard Availability Services as they apply and impact the Managed Services organization.
  9. Develop and roll out of programs that support implementation and migration to a proactive delivery of services provided by Managed Services both internally and externally.
  10. Provide executive level support to sales, sales support and marketing within a collaborative fashion in order to provide consistent, standards and communication flow from the different product areas.
  11. Provide high level insight to customer driven need and product development opportunities within the Managed Services & Recovery Services areas, key contributor and contact for marketing and sales support and new product idea generation.
  12. Executive management review, development and roll out of special projects as assigned.
  13. Provide high end reporting information to executive & leadership teams as needed. Work supportively with colleagues, operating in a collegiate manner at all times and in line with the Company’s values.

Profile:

  • BA/BS Degree; preference for a Technical or Business field of study. Essential.
  • MBA or other advanced degree. Desirable.
  • Expert knowledge of ITIL V3. Desirable.
  • PMP or PMI certification. Desirable.
  • Significant leadership experience in a senior-level software or technical implementation leadership role, preferably at a Hosting or Managed/Recovery Services Company. Essential.
  • Significant experience and expertise in a management and/or diversified business role highly preferred. Essential.
  • Experience with integration of global teams within the organization, aligning to one desired end state. Essential.
  • A successful track record as a leader, developer and manager of people and talent; demonstrated experience to attract, retain and develop strong talent and build a positive organizational and team culture. Essential.
  • Experience in service operations, implementation and lifecycle maintenance, or technical services role. Essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of solution engineering and design techniques for Managed IT Services products, Recovery products and availability solutions. Essential.
  • Ability to interact and motivate others with all levels of personnel, especially senior management and cross-departmental staff. Essential.
  • Exceptional ability to understand and interpret technology and its implementation for business use required. Essential.
  • Possess the ability to work with customers and vendors at both a business & technical level. Essential.
  • Strong sales support skills, including presentations and public speaking experience required. Essential.
  • Exceptional organizational and communications capabilities (i.e. must be able to listen and understand, then communicate orally and in written format) within all levels of an organization. Essential.
  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills to effectively supervise projects to completion. Must be able to oversee projects, manage resource allocations and ensure completion based on project commitments and budget. Essential.
  • Strong business, communications and information technology knowledge required. Essential.
  • Strong aptitude for financial information and analysis. Essential.
  • Track record in hosting, data center outsourcing, ASP, hardware/software or similar technical industry. Essential.
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in the UK and complete BS7858 British standard screening prior to joining company.
