The Card Services Risk Analyst will be responsible for delivering strategy and action to minimize risk associated with MidFirst’s active debit card portfolio. This will be accomplished in part by analyzing trends, mining data, and keeping in tune with industry knowledge so MidFirst can respond efficiently and effectively to known and suspected compromise events while maintaining card holder trust and staying true to the customer experience.
Analyze Real Time authorization declines for commonality, trends and effectiveness.
Evaluate alerts received from Visa and MasterCard to identify and quantify fraud risk.
Analyze disputed transactions data for commonality and trends.
Optimize Real Time authorization decline rules based on analysis and partnership with strategic vendors.
Identify Common Points of Purchase (CPP) and possible merchant compromises and update management on trends.
Build and run queries using Business Objects tools to analyze card transaction history and trends.
Report confirmed merchant compromises to Visa and MasterCard.
Monitor industry websites, message boards and blogs pertaining to debit card fraud and potentially compromised merchants.
Make recommendations based on analysis and intelligence gathered to mitigate card fraud loss.
Manage the process of reissuing at-risk debit cards including customer communications, replacement card ordering and compromised card shut down.
Build, enhance and maintain detailed reporting on debit card fraud loss.
Assist with Card Services projects and ad-hoc reporting.
Possess excellent analytic and research skills; attention to detail and self-motivation.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively and meet aggressive deadlines.
Experience data mining and analyzing large data sets.
Understanding of the debit card industry, Regulation E and Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards.
Effectively recognize risk, identify root causes and build controls.
Proven ability to write and review clear, concise and effective policies and procedures.
Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with management, co-workers and external contacts, contributing to an effective professional team environment.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Intermediate level MS Excel and MS Access.
Experience with SAP Desktop Intelligence or Crystal Reports desired.
Commensurate experience accepted in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
